IoT Stars is back with a must-attend startup pitching and networking event on Monday, February 27 (7pm) during the Mobile World Congress.

10 startups will be pitching in front of a top-notch jury at the amazing Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm in Barcelona.

Attending the event is a unique opportunity to meet and network with C-level industry leaders, entrepreneurs, designers, developers, investors, press & media working in the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem.

IoT Stars 2016 Winners

The second IoT Stars event in Barcelona was another blast! We had a full house at the emblematic Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm in Barcelona. We witnessed exciting stories and saw some great pitches by the selected startups. IoT is definitely happening, and its going global.

The winners are Insulclock from Madrid, Spain and Vayyar from Yehud, Israel. Congratulations to both winners.

Jonathan Ballon, VP|GM IoT at Intel to Keynote at IoT Stars #MWC16

We are pleased to announce Jonathan Ballon, VP | GM IoT at Intel as our opening keynote at the IoT Stars startup pitching event for Internet of Things startups during the Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona.

Jonathan Ballon, Intel

Jonathan Ballon is vice president in the Internet of Things Group (IOTG) and general manager of the Markets and Channels Acceleration Division at Intel Corporation. He is responsible for managing and driving revenue across a portfolio of growth segments, while also incubating new sectors and business models. In addition, he is responsible for driving scale across all IoT segments through various channels and routes to market.

Prior to joining Intel, Ballon served as chief strategy officer and chief operations officer for General Electric’s Industrial Internet business, and served as corporate vice president at Cisco leading the office of strategy and planning. He presently also serves as an advisor and board member to several Silicon Valley based startups and accelerators.

Ballon holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego, summa cum laude, and an MBA degree in strategic planning and operations management from the University of Pittsburgh.

Another keynote talk will be provided by Scott Jenson, Product Strategist at Google.

Scott Jenson has been in the design business for over 30 years, working at Apple, Symbian, frog design and Google on projects such as Mac System 7, Apple’s User Interface Guidelines, the Newton, Google Mobile Maps. He is now on the Chrome team, working on the Physical Web project.

What is IoT Stars?

The IoT Stars it’s a 2 1/2 hour event that will be celebrated at the fabulous Agbar Tower in Barcelona on Monday, March 2, 2015. It is organised by Rudy de Waele with shift 2020 in collaboration with Marc Pous, the founder of thethings.iO and organiser of the IoT Meetups in Barcelona and Munich.

We are looking for the most amazing IoT companies

Until the end of January 2015, the most awesome Internet of Things companies would be able to apply at the IoT Stars. Afterwards, 10 IoT startups will be selected by industry experts from online submissions.

IoT Stars have 2 special prizes:

      for IoT startups on early stage phase
      for IoT companies on round A stage

The 10 selected Internet of Things startups will pitch for 5 minutes to a jury on stage at the event in Barcelona during the IoT Stars at the MWC15. The IoT Stars will be followed by a networking event to meet THE players in the IoT ecosystem, investors and other IoT entrepreneurs.
